As soon as a decision is made, it should be released publicly, along with the reasons behind the decision, including explaining how public submissions were considered in the decision-making process. In addition, the EIA Authority should provide a written response to submissions and comments lodged during the EIA Report Review step. This is so the community is satisfied that their concerns have been addressed.
10.3.2 The public needs to be aware at this step of any opportunities to appeal the decision. This includes being made aware of any appeal that may be lodged by a project proponent if the EIA Report is not approved, along with full information about how the appeals process operates.
